I strictly buy all my incense from the Fetus. They have this awesome "less smoke" incense that you can't find anywhere else in the city.

I also buy all my glass pipes from here and wouldn't go to Clown Glass (their competitor...sort of) if my life depended on it.

And they're totally wheelchair accessible, minus the uber-creaky wood floor that announces your arrival wherever you roll in the store.

Memories. I remember my first trips to the Fetus with warmth in my heart. My dad and I would drive up from the suburbs and walk into the incense-filled world of vinyl records, tapes, CDs, soaps, lotions, candles, t-shirts and other loveliness. It was a foreign land. It was an adventure.

I honestly remember feeling badass when we walked through those doors. Looking into the glass cases of pipes, smoking paraphernalia and other illicit goodies, I knew I was not cool enough to be inside the Fetus.

I still feel that way today.

The Fetus is a Twin Cities legend. Home to the coolest music collection in town, and some of the most knowledgeable sales staff ever, the Fetus makes buying music an immersive experience.

This is the place to find the album of that obscure band you saw play the Entry last month. Or to find a great new indie band before everyone else. Or best yet, to find obscure back-catalog b-sides from the the bands that defined the indie sound. Any thing you're looking for, the folks at the Fetus have you covered.

In a time when so many Americans buy their music from Wal-Mart, Target and Best Buy, it's important to support places like the Fetus. Sure, you might pay a couple of bucks more for some albums, but when you make that purchase at the Fetus you're supporting our local music scene. You're supporting people who have dedicated their careers to local music. You're making a difference, cliche as that sounds.

Alright, now I feel the urge to go browse the racks at the Fetus, so off I go. I don't know what album I'm looking for, but I guarantee I'll find something great.
